K1618012 contains the coding sequence for the enzyme butyrate kinase of the butyrate biosynthetic pathways (Figure 1) from Coprococcus sp. (L2-50 DSM 16842) under control of the LacI promoter. Butyrate kinase catalyzes the Conversion of Butyrate to/from Butyryl-CoA 1.
